Chiropractic Twice as Effective as Medicine for Neck Pain

The incidence of neck pain in the world continues to increase, considerably impacting families, communities, businesses and health care systems. When faced with this possibly debilitating condition what treatment options are most effective?

A study featured on ABC News and The Wall Street Journal and published in the Annals of Internal Medicine shows that chiropractic is twice as effective as medicine for neck pain.  The study, funded by the National Institutes of Health, tracked 272 patients with neck pain who were treated using three different methods: medication, exercise and chiropractic.  After 12 weeks, the patients who turned to chiropractic care experienced the highest rate of success, with 32% saying they were pain free.  That’s compared to 30% who exercised and only 13% who used medication to treat their pain.
